Boscovich Bistrot & Osteria

Un’Altra Pasta

VINTAGE MARKET NAVIGLI

On the last Sunday of each month, Milan’s Naviglio Grande, the city’s oldest canal, becomes a sprawling outdoor flea market. Vintage enthusiasts and bargain seekers flock to the 400 stalls that stretch along the canal for nearly 2km. You’ll find a diverse range of items, from antique furniture to books, jewelry, second-hand clothes, and vintage vinyl. Don’t forget to pause and savor some delectable gelato at one of the trendy canal-side cafes.

PIAZZA GAE AULENTI

The epicenter of Milan’s most modern neighbourhood and is dedicated to the renowned female architect Gae Aulenti. Crafted by the renowned architects at Pelli Clarke Pelli, this square has been hailed as one of the world’s most stunning plazas, boasting three fountains and innovative environmental sustainability features. The dynamic square serves as a bustling meeting point day and night, offering an array of cafes and restaurants.

BAR QUADRONNO

A historic Milan sandwich spot since 1964, creates innovative sandwiches like smoked salmon canapes and the famous “monkey ham sandwich”. It holds the distinction of being the city’s pioneering late-night sandwich haven – and became a Milan nightlife icon in the 70s and 80s, with a reputation extending across Italy.

NAVIGLI & TORTONA

Formerly Milan’s Factory District, this area reinvented itself in the 1980s as creative businesses moved into empty lofts. Now, it’s a celebrated hub of creativity and culture. Via Tortona showcases premier fashion showrooms, including Giorgio Armani’s headquarters. Every April, Tortona becomes the center of Design Week, transforming it to a vibrant furniture pop-up. Explore this trendy district filled with cafes, shops, and street art.

Il Balda | Baldassarre

A trendy neighbourhood café-bistro serving brunch, lunch, and dinner, with cocktails that catch your eye. The space is modern yet cosy, the staff are chatty and warm, and the food hits that sweet spot between simple and memorable. You can pop in solo, with friends, or even linger for a casual evening meal without feeling rushed.

PANZEROTTI LUINI

Be ready for the line at Panzerotti Luini, a business carried on by the Luini Family through three generations. Mrs. Giuseppina Luini introduced the “panzerotti” to the city in 1949. While initially centered on bread, her passion for traditional flavors led her to rediscover the panzerotti recipe from her grandfather. Over time, panzerotti became a Milanese meal staple. When in Milan, grab one of these and enjoy it while sitting on the steps of the Duomo.

Bar Velasca

If you’re nearby and fancy a quick pause, Bar Velasca is an easy one to drop into. Right by Torre Velasca, it’s a classic Milanese bar with no fuss, good coffee, and a steady local crowd. Come by for a morning espresso or a simple aperitivo and watch the city pass by. Nothing fancy, just a spot that does what it does well.

VIALE PAPINIANO MARKET

Extending over a kilometer, the Viale Papiniano market boasts numerous stalls every Tuesday and Saturday, many exclusively showcasing designer fashion merchandise. If you’re on the lookout for sports gear, classic apparel, bags, and more, this is the right spot for you. Keep an eye out for the Deadstock label scattered throughout; it signifies brand-new, unsold items from boutiques and outlets. Arriving early does not only allow you to discover unique pieces but also to get your hands on the freshest fruit, vegetables, meat, and seafood.

II Verzeratt

If you’re in the mood for an easy aperitivo with a bit of local history, Il Verzeratt – Dal 1919 is a lovely one to know. Just a short walk from the Duomo, it started as a small fruit and veg stand back in 1919, and still keeps that simple, local feel today. Stop by for a spritz and a few bites, easy, relaxed, and full of character.

RIVARENO GELATO

After discovering the secrets to fine gelato-making in Bologna – the owners of Rivareno Gelato then transferred these learnings to Milan. Their first gelato shop opened in 2005 on Via Col di Lana, followed by a second location on Via Mercato. Distinguished by premium ingredients, fresh flavors, and a velvety texture, their gelato has received numerous awards.

MASSIMO DE CARLO

Since its establishment in 1987, Massimo de Carlo Gallery showcases both emerging talents like John Armleder and Oliver Mossert – and renowned masters such as Cady Noland and Maurizio Cattelan. The gallery plays a pivotal role in connecting international audiences and vice versa, fostering a dynamic dialogue across various artistic mediums.

SECCI GALLERY MILANO

Founded in 2013 in Florence, Secci is a renowned gallery near Max Brown Missori, known for showcasing both Modern and Contemporary art. Milano Sushisamba

If you feel like mixing things up one evening, Sushisamba Milano is a fun one to have on your list. Dal Bolognese

L’Alchimia

VENCHI

MamaEat

Near the Duomo, you’ll find Milan’s oldest district, known as “Cinque Vie” – due to its role as a convergence point for several streets: Via Santa Marta, Via del Bollo, Via Bocchetto, Via Santa Maria Fulcorina, and Via Santa Maria Podone. Today, it boasts numerous galleries, craft shops, antique stores, ateliers, and contemporary fashion and design boutiques. PASTICCERIA MARCHESI

TAVEGGIA

Established in 1909 by Fermo Taveggia, Taveggia began as a modest family bakery before evolving into a beloved bar-pastry shop and meeting spot for the Milanese. Taveggia opens its doors at 7 am, offering a wide range of coffee and pastries as well as an a la carte menu. During lunch time, you get to choose between the pastry shop’s delights and the bistro’s dishes.

DRINC COCKTAIL & CONVERSATION

ERBA BRUSCA
